It is very important to select a National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) member when choosing a company to perform this service. Being members requires a company to follow all of the strict standards and guidelines set forth for cleaning and containment techniques in our industry.

We invest the extra time and money to train our technicians on a high level. As a minimum requirement, we have all of our technicians earn the Ventilation Maintenance Technician (VMT) training certificate through the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA). This means that anyone coming out to your home to perform the service will be very experienced, very knowledgeable, and know exactly what to do. We have multiple team members with even higher certifications such as, Air System Cleaning Specialists (ASCS) both in the office and in the field. Our Professional Cleaning Process Makes the Difference!

The HVAC system is placed under negative air pressure (suction) using our large vacuum trucks, which delivers 16,000 CFM.
All registers and grills are taken off and hand washed. The housings will be cleaned and detailed before the cleaned vents are reinstalled.
While under suction, high powered air tools are guided down each duct, scrubbing the inside, and forcing all of the dust, dirt, and other debris through the duct and back to the vacuum connection.
All the ductwork is cleaned; this includes the complete supply and return sides, all the branches and main trunk lines.
The upper and lower cabinets of the furnace are cleaned and detailed.
Electronic air cleaners and washable air filters are thoroughly cleaned, or a new disposable filter can be installed.
The A/C evaporator coil is thoroughly cleaned, assuming it is accessible.
Optional, but no extra charge: Treat the entire HVAC system with our eco-responsible, EPA registered, disinfecting and deodorizing product.
All access openings are sealed airtight at the end of the job.
System is cycled and purged.
Thorough clean-up of the jobsite and final walk through are completed.

How often should Air Ducts Be Cleaned?

The National Air Duct Cleaners Association has conducted many tests and studies to determine how often the air ducts should be cleaned in the average home. Based on the results of those studies, NADCA recommends having the air ducts cleaned every 3-5 years for indoor air quality and efficiency reasons.

Are You Having A New Furnace or A/C Installed? Time for a Cleaning!

When having a new furnace installed into existing ductwork, keep in mind that the new furnace blower is usually more powerful, thus loosening dust and debris that has accumulated over a period of time and blowing it out into the living space through the registers/ diffusers. We have seen homes completely dusted out, or people complaining about much more dust throughout the house after the new equipment is installed. In our professional opinion, we recommend having the air ducts cleaned before running the new system, or as soon as possible after.

A/C Evaporator Coil Cleaning

This step in our cleaning process is especially important for system efficiency and performance. If you have central air conditioning in your building, then this is a component that you have. This coil is typically located inside the air handler, or just beyond it, inside of the duct work. This is the area where air is chilled down and humidity is removed when the air passes through. The air still passes through this area when the system is in heat mode, but the coil is turned off. Similar to your air filter collecting dust and debris, this coil also collects dust and debris overtime. This can lead to unpleasant odors, especially during the air conditioning season. Instead of replacing it like a dirty air filter, it must be cleaned periodically. Tests and studies show that cleaning a dirty A/C evaporator coil can improve system efficiency by up to 40 percent! This improvement will extend the life of your equipment, and lead to a significant cost savings with utility and energy bills. This specific step in the cleaning process will help increase air flow out of the vents/ diffusers, and lead to more even temperatures throughout the indoor space.

As long as we have access to this coil, it is included in our normal cleaning process. It is first vacuumed off with a HEPA filtered vacuum machine, and then it is sprayed with a high quality coil cleaner. After letting the cleaning product dwell for about ten minutes, the coil is rinsed clean with fresh water. The cleaning product and the water will be drained out through the drain at the bottom of the coil. We finish by treating the coil with our eco-responsible, EPA registered disinfecting and deodorizing treatment.
