Duct Restoration and Coating
The goal of this service is to restore the inside of ductwork and air handlers when the surface condition is poor. This can be a great alternative to a costly replacement. Our HVAC approved coating product is applied to provide a new surface layer, similar to a rhino liner on a pick-up truck bed. The ductwork or air handler that is going to be restored must be professionally cleaned first. The surface is then coated with our EPA registered product RE-500 from Hardcast; this product is designed for use in HVAC systems. This product is applied with the use of different sprayers and cart systems by one of our certified applicators.
This unique equipment allows us to thoroughly coat the system without many access openings being made. RE-500 is formulated with EPA registered chemicals to resist microbial growth in the future. The product has a semi-gloss finish, which provides a non-stick surface, and inhibits fiberglass degradation and debris accumulation moving forward. This product dries quickly and does not leave any odors behind.
This is most commonly used on internal lining or duct board but can also be applied to metal. Ductwork can still be cleaned again in the future without the coating being affected. This coating is also great for eliminating odors that internal lining or duct board can hold from smoke or other causes. Before and after photos will be provided.
Duct Sealing
The goal of this service is to seal any gaps and openings within the duct system to help improve efficiency, to provide better air flow and circulation, to provide more even temperatures in the space, and to prevent the system from drawing air in from undesirable areas. The first step in this process would be to seal all external joints and seams on accessible duct work; this is done with a special mastic tape or a brushed on sealing product.
The second step would be to seal the internal surfaces with our EPA registered product RS-100 from Hardcast; this product is designed for use in HVAC systems. The ductwork or air handler that is going to be sealed must be professionally cleaned first.
