History of Air Duct Maintenance
Air Duct Maintenance, Inc. was founded in 1996 by Kevin and Debbie L’Herbier. They were building their home in Gibsonia when they noticed how much dust and debris had accumulated inside the ductwork during construction. No one in the area offered an air duct cleaning service, so the L’Herbier’s took a leap of faith and Air Duct Maintenance was born. Kevin and Debbie pioneered the air duct cleaning industry in the Pittsburgh area, helping hundreds of thousands of homeowners and businesses to breathe clean, healthy indoor air.
To this day, the L’Herbier family still owns and operates the business. In 2021, the second-generation took over the family business, and is currently led by Kevin and Debbie’s son, Dan L’Herbier, President and daughter, Lauren Konno, Vice President. Air Duct Maintenance, Inc. is a leader in the Indoor Air Quality Industry.
We offer a short list of specialty services that help our customers achieve a cleaner, healthier, more comfortable, and more efficient indoor environment. The Right Equipment
Air Duct Maintenance, Inc. has the proper tools and equipment to master any type of job that comes our way, helping us earn the title as Pittsburgh’s air duct cleaning specialist. We attend annual seminars to ensure that we are up to date on the latest duct cleaning techniques and technologies; in addition, our equipment is state of the art and well maintained to meet the NADCA standards. We want to make sure our customers receive the very best service available.

All our equipment is kept clean and is well maintained.
- We use Kubota 56 horsepower diesel mounted vacuum trucks, which deliver 16,000 CFM, the most powerful vacuum trucks in this industry.
- We have a large collection hopper on our truck that all the dirt, dust, and other debris is collected in once it is removed from the duct system. All our vacuum bags are internal, they are not exposed to the elements, meaning they do not lose suction in the rain, snow, or extremely cold temperatures.
- We use specialized air tools to clean the ductwork. This is a flexible rod system with a rubber whipping tool on the end. These tools are hand fed throughout the duct system, forcing all the debris towards the vacuum hose to be extracted.
- The specialized air tools that we use allow us to clean any size, shape, material, or layout of ductwork.
- Our high-powered vacuum system acts as both an extraction device, and a containment device.
- The entire system is put under intense suction, so we guarantee that no dirt, dust, or other debris will be blown into the living space while the debris is being cleaned out.
- Once all the debris is cleaned out, we can treat the ductwork with a product called Sniper, a disinfectant and deodorizing product designed for use in HVAC systems.
- Commercial/industrial grade HEPA vacuum systems that can be used in remote locations.
- For large ductwork and air handlers, we have a variety of contact vacuum equipment.
